Pros

Goodwill's mission to support people who have a hard time finding jobs due to physical or even mental disability is an amazing thing to see in practice when visiting the stores. As someone who has their own personal struggles I was hopeful that this job would not only benefit the company but also help me work on the skills I needed to succeed as with what the company states with their mission.

Cons

Supervisors need to be able to show more sympathy toward their employees who have a hard time with comprehension and to be able to clarify instructions without making their employees feel like idiots for needing clarification. The way that I personally have been spoken to has degraded my confidence in coming to my superiors when I am unsure about something as the tone and manner that they use is equivalent to that of someone speaking to a toddler. I've grown up with the notion that communication is important and yet when I communicate with my supervisors about even the smallest issue I may have it is never taken seriously and I am met with annoyance and frustration. This may not be an issue in all stores but at the store I work at it is an issue I've been struggling with since being hired.

Pros

There is not a single "pro" to be listed.

Cons

The entire corporate office is beyond ignorant. Completely out of touch with reality, price gouging customers trying to raise profit margins for the non profit. Everyday at any second one call from corporate and there is a change to how everything has to be done, usually causing more issues only to blame people who had nothing to do with their ideas. They don't let the store manager be a store manager.. in fact, I'll sum up everything you need to know in one sentence.. they went as far as to install systems to remotely control the thermostat from their comfy corporate office. Imagine not just the employees but the customers constantly complaining. That is how out of touch with reality they all are.
