Pros

It felt good knowing that I was helping a larger community, as opposed to a private entity. Hearing how our work directly impacted people’s lives made it all worth it.

Cons

The project and department budgets were always very small. I continually used my own equipment to provide the highest quality product or end result that I could deliver. I often felt unsupported by senior staff who couldn’t offer helpful industry advice. Other departments had learning opportunities that were embedded into the culture of the company, not so many n my position.

Pros

There is not a single "pro" to be listed.

Cons

The entire corporate office is beyond ignorant. Completely out of touch with reality, price gouging customers trying to raise profit margins for the non profit. Everyday at any second one call from corporate and there is a change to how everything has to be done, usually causing more issues only to blame people who had nothing to do with their ideas. They don't let the store manager be a store manager.. in fact, I'll sum up everything you need to know in one sentence.. they went as far as to install systems to remotely control the thermostat from their comfy corporate office. Imagine not just the employees but the customers constantly complaining. That is how out of touch with reality they all are.
