Pros
Lots of flexibility and freedom, great benefits and awesome 401k matching
Cons
After leaving GFC and seeing what other companies are like I am surprised each time I remember what the culture was like. Firstly, to advance your career you need to be related. A 1950's type culture is very present and oppressive for anyone not in the family or with special connections. My team was often put in positions where owner's personal relationships with staff affected our ability to do our jobs and excel. Middle-management should have been the buffer there but unfortunately they instead created a divisive atmosphere by picking a group of favorites they protected. For some reason I thought all this was normal corporate life until I left. A lot of money can be made here in sales if you are a fighter and can outlast a lot of other sales people. But even so, you may sell your soul along the way.
