Pros
Good ESOP program, which is their only retirement program. Average wages on the corporate side, better pay on the plant side. Modern work environment and the associated luxuries, with free well-kept parking. Employer-sponsored healthcare, although single employees contribute about $3,000 annually. Company-sponsored "appreciation" events twice or so through the year.
Cons
Nonexistent communication between departments, and even within many departments. Working remote is not an option, even though most employees commute over 45 minutes each way. Taking care of normal life occurrences becomes near impossible. Extremely noncompetitive vacation/sick leave time allowance. Forget about taking a vacation or calling off sick. Most departments are beyond short-staffed and expected to accomplish great things without the necessary resources, setting employees up for failure. No employee training/development/mentorship programs. Advancing in your career isn't an option unless you know someone. Except for those at a very high level, corporate employees are not given the chance/permitted to know or understand the products, suppliers, or plants they're working with.
