Pros

I can't think of any good reasons to work for Guidewire. If I didn't need the money, I would be out the door lickety split.

Cons

The company has lost the startup spirit and entered flabby middle age. Every Friday is "work at home day", but try to email or IM a fellow worker with a question, and you will find that most of them checked out early for the weekend on Thursday evening.

If you really are a Guidewire employee, you know how little I think of anonymous rants as a way to improve anything in the company or the world. But I’ll take the bait, and agree with you that it’s my duty to speak directly, as frequently as possible, with the real professionals who do the work at Guidewire. I do that every day. Even more would be better. Since you offered me advice, let me reciprocate with some for you. Don’t live your life in such fear. Speak your mind like a grown-up, face-to-face with the people you’re criticizing instead of as an anonymous troll. You'll be happier. My door and inbox are always open. Also, don’t work for anyplace just for a paycheck. If you were good enough to pass our interview process, there are plenty of places who would value your skills – if not your execrable attitude. Regards, Marcus
