Pros

The software is second to none in the insurance industry. This is actually an understatement - if you knew the caliber of people behind the software, you would be as convinced as I am about the quality and potential of their products. As long as the company continues to adhere to its core principles, I truly believe Guidewire will dominate the market. However, now that it is a public company, Guidewire's dedication to its core principles is being tested, (see below)

Cons

Layoffs are unfortunately a necessary evil, but layoffs following a hiring spree is worrisome. Eliminating under-performing people over time (and there are plenty), on a case-by-case basis, would've resulted in at least a net 5% reduction in staff. Instead, the way this was handled left many employees feeling insecure about their jobs.

Pros

NA, can't think of anything positive anymore. It's a micromanaging mess.

Cons

Guidewire makes majors shift every 2 years and the last one to take PgM out of PD into its own department is a micromanaging nightmare. We have more status meetings and spreadsheets to update than time to do any work anymore. 3 places to update if I want to take PTO. 7am and 7pm meetings are now the norm. 6 bosses in 10 years, no one can make up their mind on the direction of the company, projects start and are abandoned constantly.
