Pros

- Culture established by founders / early hires still exists in pockets - Benefits are generous - Most internal orgs are still taking a flexible approach to remote work -

Cons

- Innovation is not a priority and a lot of the creative, energetic individuals have moved on. - A tremendous amount of money has been wasted "finding our way" during the transition of our core products to the cloud. Now, there is a penny-pinching campaign to make up for poor strategic decisions from the last several years. - Attrition is high in talented, experienced contributors as we've gambled on our ability to reshuffle the deck continuously. The costs of formal training, the additional pressure on experienced employees to fill the gaps, and the significant ramp-up time for new hires is not being considered intelligently in the decision to let established people walk.

Pros

NA, can't think of anything positive anymore. It's a micromanaging mess.

Cons

Guidewire makes majors shift every 2 years and the last one to take PgM out of PD into its own department is a micromanaging nightmare. We have more status meetings and spreadsheets to update than time to do any work anymore. 3 places to update if I want to take PTO. 7am and 7pm meetings are now the norm. 6 bosses in 10 years, no one can make up their mind on the direction of the company, projects start and are abandoned constantly.
