Pros

Good people, great work-life balance. Most people work from home 1 day a week. There is a lot of flexibility to work around any family commitments. Things are relaxed overall, but an impressive amount of work gets done. There is a lot of room to move around. You can switch projects very easily if there is an opening and managers express a lot of (genuine) interest in your career goals.

Cons

The insurance business sounds boring, so the company is having a hard time hiring some top talent in some key areas. There are some very good people, but overall technical skills are not as highly valued as more softer skills.

Pros

NA, can't think of anything positive anymore. It's a micromanaging mess.

Cons

Guidewire makes majors shift every 2 years and the last one to take PgM out of PD into its own department is a micromanaging nightmare. We have more status meetings and spreadsheets to update than time to do any work anymore. 3 places to update if I want to take PTO. 7am and 7pm meetings are now the norm. 6 bosses in 10 years, no one can make up their mind on the direction of the company, projects start and are abandoned constantly.
