Pros
Gusto is an amazing company for its benefits and culture. They hire some of the best people, the office life is great, and the benefits are great (flexible PTO). You can be yourself and feel accepted there. The mission is great and you truly feel you are helping people every day you are at work. You will learn a lot in your role and it's a great company to start at.
Cons
The company makes it extremely hard to move upwards. Most people I know get hired in one position and stay there or leave. Almost nobody moves upward. They say they care about internal hiring but then continuously do external hiring passing over experienced people who have been with the company for years. Unless you're in management, they pay way under the industry norm and try to make up for it with the benefit package. They have absolutely no problem with overworking you and not caring about work / life balance with 10-30 hours of overtime going on endlessly. Gusto is a great place to gain a skillset and then leave to somewhere else that will pay you better and treat you better.
