Pros

Flexible work hours, free Starbucks coffee.

Cons

Although HCL America is set in the middle of Redmond, Washington on the Microsoft campus. The company Mateo "The employee comes first," is an absolute lie. Contract workers are shuffled and elemanated like playing cards in a poker game rife with card sharks and under handed deals. It's common practice for most members to smile in your face and nod, then very rudely turn around and speak in Hindi or three or four other languages from one of there native regions. Which would be fine if you were one of them. What they tell you is happening and what is actually happening are to completely different things. The office environment is fraught with cultural bias and none of it leaning towards an American prospective even though they are actually working in the United States. If you're looking for an understanding management team and basic job security you are working for or interviewing with the wrong company. The term rats from a sinking ship comes to mind because decent quality employees are constantly subject to harassment and mental mind games. So decent people leave, and HCl is fully aware of this and does nothing. The turnover rate at HCL is startling. If only there office politics wasn't so deeply steeped in nepotism and favoritism one might actually be able to traverse the propetual minefields that infect the general structure of their day-to-day operations. If you go to work for this company and you are a non-Indian be prepared. The management structure is composed primarily of individuals from India who have no understanding of American culture and also have no desire to comprehend it. They view the world and American culture from a very small prism and if they are exposed to the actual realities regarding the structure of America society it is rejected. So if you're comfortable working in little Bombay and you speak the language and you're not a member of one of the lower castes. You might consider this a home away from home. But to those who have not been raised in this jungle you may consider this a perilous place to be and you will undoubtedly be looking for greener pastures as soon as the opportunity presents itself.
