Pros

There are no pros of working at HCLTech

Cons

For 3 yrs you lived and breathed the spirit of HCLTech giving your all to projects, exceeding targets. The promotion was documented, hard-earned culmination. But life often writes its own scripts. A sudden, critical family emergency forced to tender the resignation. It was the necessity for well-being and that's where the proclaimed "employee centric" values evaporated. I was informed that because I was serving notice period, the promotion which was already earned and awaiting release could not be processed. The reason? a cold, rigid HR policy that halts promotion letter release upon off-boarding. Why an earned promotion must be honored? It isn't about the next few months of salary; it is about the dignity and the permanent record of hard-earned recognition. A promotion signifies the value I delivered while I was an active, contributing employee and still is till the day you are parted. So why should a company stop your letter release. It is an official endorsement of my performance that should stand regardless of whether I choose to stay or move on. It is kind of ironical that in your employment letter/Service letter, they mention "wishes for your future career" and then they damage the career by withholding a deserved reward that bolster my career trajectory. It is utterly contradictory. It suggests that once loyalty is no longer guaranteed, the organization is perfectly willing to erase the past to save few months of payment.

Pros

It is a job that pays you money

Cons

Where do I even begin.... HCl is a company that will overwork and underpay you and never give you a raise. I was lucky to get a very competitive wage when I started that I felt like I deserved and I fought for that. However even that process they bait and switched 3 times offering higher amounts over the phone and then going back on their word and offering less and less each time until they finally sent me an offer letter. The entire company is inept at communication at any and all levels. You will never get a raise and any time you have any kind of issue or need management/HR to do anything for you results in being ignored. Additionally they will add and add to your roles and responsibilities and ask for the impossible and unreasonable. They get contracts by underbidding other MSP's and then hiring as few people on site as possible and refer the rest of the work to overseas workers that will never do any work and always kick responsibility back to you. If you ever get lucky and they are forced to actually do their job they show that they clearly have no idea what they are doing or talking about. All around a terrible company to work for. If your job role is getting outsourced to HCL, fight for a good salary up front because they will never give you a raise and try to look for another place to work as soon as you can.
