Very few positives remain since the new management took over. It’s still rewarding to work alongside the talented engineers who haven’t yet left or been affected by layoffs — their collaboration and resilience keep things moving. When you do meet the CEO, he makes an effort to be inclusive and upbeat, which is one of the few bright spots in an otherwise difficult environment.
Cons
Since the arrival of the new CEO in 2024, the organization has been in constant turmoil. The first wave brought in four new direct reports, followed by a complete overhaul of the existing leadership team — replaced mostly with individuals from the CEO’s previous circles at SolarWinds and Amazon. Long-time HG employees were increasingly marginalized, with their perspectives carrying little weight in key decisions. Strategic, hiring, and delivery choices are made at the top and announced only days before taking effect, leaving teams with minimal visibility or input. U.S. teams are being replaced by lower-cost offshore resources, leading to a significant loss of expertise, context, and morale. The newly appointed managers have imported a culture of fear and intimidation from their prior organizations, eroding trust and collaboration across the company.
