Pros

People would say the "culture is good", but over the years it has gotten worse (used to be quite people oriented, but now it's just all about the numbers). Also depends on your manager, mine is definitely all about numbers only.

Cons

Pay is low, AL is little, flexibility depends on your department and manager. Business is not doing well (= bonus is low). Many travel freeze, occasional hiring freeze. Many employees have been here for more than 20 years (= chances of career advancement is low)

Pros

Fantastically little manager oversight. I hate being micromanaged. Give me some direction and let me work. In this way, it is great. I contract through a staffing agency, who I also never talk to. A dream. Pay is good. Expectations are low (which could be a con for some).

Cons

There is really no manager guidance, and hardly any feedback. Managers aren't allowed to meet regularly with contractors. Very hierarchical. Super slow task initiation. SUPER slow implementation. Like a six-month to one-year dev backlog. Not a good fit if you're hungry and a change-agent and live to make work processes better. Did I say slow? I meant glacial. And tribal/political. And scrumfall dysfunction. Other than that, it's great.
