Pros
If you're looking for a place where you'll receive no respect from corporate, your boss, or from your customers. This seems like the right kind of atmosphere for a nice calm job. Check again. It's all about appearances. If you're ready to be micromanaged even down to the type of socks you're wearing, you'll love this job. Any job. Corporate Hallmark is run by extremely difficult people with hard heads that do not listen nor do they care about fairness, what will ACTUALLY work, or anything that may be important to their workers or their customers. If you like that kind of thing, feel free.
Cons
Corporate "Perfect store" list. A lick of dust in the store and you're in trouble. No matter who you are. This is a place where old ladies practically live, and certainly they aren't very nice. Hallmark honestly does it's best to manipulate their customers and to make customers feel guilty about not buying random people in their life cards and gifts. It will be your job, as any employee within a store, to go through the 5 steps called FIRST. F - friendly greeting to ALL customers I - investigate their needs (Bother them, no matter what they're doing. Ask questions, and beg for answers.) R- Recommend products (This means sell. A LOT. Or you're not doing your job. AND NO you don't get commssion. S - Sell ONE MORE CARD and seal the sale. (That means, sell more.) T - Thank and invite them back. Every time. And let me tell you, if you aren't doing this, even as an assistant manager, or manager, your boss will be angry.
