Pros
I was able to go to work when my kids were in school. My stores were visited weekly, and I never missed a day. I LOVED what I did and would have stayed, but I had to leave due to the unreasonable "offer". They thought they were doing me a favor. I loved having a few stores, but now down to ONE and for 5 days a week for only ONE HOUR a DAY? WASTE OF TIME!!! I wanted more work, but had 6 hour workweeks. YET I did drop everything to keep the stores neat and well stocked for major holidays. NEVER going over hours, but still no more stores offered to me. Crazy!!! A "good RM" but no reward or any type of offer to keep me on board. I stayed for 14 months, and worked from 6 hours to 30 hours. Ideally 15 hours would be a nice 'minimum', but it was a rare thing to get.
Cons
One of my stores was closed and I never was given any replacement to make up for hours. Now they are making it "mandatory to travel up to 60 miles" for a revision. That's a bit extreme for a 'part time' job. Now I see job openings posted for areas nearby, but was never offered any of these stores which I would have gladly loved to have worked, even just ONE or TWO added to my stores to service. My "offer" was a "take it or leave it" offer. NO they did NOT want to put me on a list to see if they could find me another "opportunity". My "career" was over with a phone call that lasted less than 3 minutes. I was SURE I had enough RETAIL STORES in MY area to service and would have had a better "route" than ONE store that was over 5 miles away. A 10 mile radius was what I was originally offered, and now NOTHING could be accommodated WITHIN 10 MILES? THE new jobs being posted have the locations, and MOST OF THEM are within my range......but instead I am now back on FOOD STAMPS, unemployed, and right back to where I was 14 months ago BEFORE I was hired as a "part time" employee. The amount of EXTRA stock shipped in is A WASTE. So much is DISCARDED. NO employee discount or benefits of any kind.
