Pros

The company hires people from a range of academic and professional backgrounds, making it an ideal company for those fresh out of college who maybe had a liberal arts degree and are now wondering how to get a job. For the company's "general research" role, they look for those with decent research and writing skills. For the survey work, you will ideally need some experience in statistics or light computing programming. The culture of the company is very good - very friendly and intelligent coworkers and managers.

Cons

People that leave usually do so for higher pay. The salary here is average to maybe even below-average, but the benefit is the work-life balance (hours are pretty well locked-in to a 9-5, M-F with very little expectation of working beyond that). So those that leave generally go to a similar research, consulting, and/or survey company for more pay but usually end up working longer hours. But Hanover can be a good jumping-off spot for those later jobs (put in ~2 years and you'll learn a lot).
