The mission behind the company is so incredibly inspiring and watching it play out across the organization day in and day out is unbelievable. Harbor Health is an outstanding company that is doing what’s necessary to improve the healthcare industry
The flowery language and promises during the hiring process sound great on paper.
Cons
Management frequently uses the excuse of being a "new" company to justify highly unstable practices. Without warning, they laid off approximately 90% of their RN staff. Operationally, the infrastructure is lacking: the EMR system is incredibly frustrating to work with, and the cheap telephone system they utilize makes daily communication inefficient.
Provider turnover is massive, leaving the South Austin and south-of-Austin locations with zero permanent physicians. Because of the lack of providers, urgent care clinics are often forced to close. It creates a stressful work environment where you constantly feel like "doom is around the corner." Patients are noticeably leaving the practice.
