Pros

Have a friend that works there that is a good person. Their HR onboarding call schedule was also professional.

Cons

Their team was requiring me to sign a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) "Master Confidentiality Agreement" at onboarding that also had an Intellectual Property (IP) patent agreement in it that said I had NO patents, which would be a lie, as I have patents in my name. NDAs are perfectly acceptable, but not if they have embedded IP agreements that result in someone signing off on a lie during onboard. If their legal department was requesting this lie, what other documents would I have to sign that would be a lie when doing work for clients? Work was part-time, however I had to assign them all patents and trademarks, even though classified as part-time, when doing work on my own-time and not on their hours, even if scope different and field-of-use different. Also, I was told to pause work until NDA was approved by legal with exceptions, itemized after reviewing with legal provided and lost a month of work in December 2022, which caused harm to my cash-flow. However, they kept wanting to call me and talk, which would use me and my time, super weird. If you're an independent thinker and patent holder and can deliver real innovative value, beware of this organization. Also, on my own dime and time went to get a drug test as required for onboarding and passed it and wasted hours because their team, per HR their legal team specifically, said they needed an NDA signed that would have me signing off on a lie, where no patents issued and also would give their firm IP and patents when NOT on their clock. Unethical for anyone to sign a document like, which would be a lie during onboarding with their HR. For their HR team to let their legal team force them to make a new part-time employee lie, is extremely questionable with respect to their ethics on future documents any engineer would have to sign off on if their legal team forced an employee to sign off on that works for them.
