Pros

Specifically to my department: In the year I've been at Hatch, I've been empowered to learn more than I have in the previous five combined. I've become a better professional in ways I couldn't have imagined when I first started. I wasn't given a roadmap to success. I was given expectations, guidelines, and the autonomy to conquer them by any means necessary. With this being my first start-up experience, it was terrifying. But! The company culture and generosity of co-workers is what helps you overcome that fear. The people here are incredible at every level. And it's not just socially at office events like All Hands Fridays where everyone can grab a beer (or make a cocktail) and share weekly successes or spur of the moment putt-putt competitions. Every single person here genuinely cares about the success of the company and has each other's backs. Challenges to the status quo are encouraged, group think is not. If you're entrepreneurial, want to be responsible for your own success, aren't afraid of learning by failure, and want to be surrounded by genuinely good people striving for a common goal, then Hatch is home for you.

Cons

If you're someone that would rather have a 8-5 and be given a strict to-do list each week, you're probably not cut out for this. In fact, you're probably not going to enjoy start-up life in general.

Pros

As a recent hire, I couldn’t be happier with my decision to join this company. The engineering culture is strong, with a shared commitment to doing the right thing. The company's rapid growth, particularly in the AI space, has led to an influx of new talent on the engineering team, which has been a great opportunity for personal growth and learning. The upper and middle management are very supportive and seem genuinely invested in fostering a healthy work-life balance, which is a huge plus. If you're considering joining, I’d say: go for it. It's a great place to grow your career while being part of a dynamic and innovative team.

Cons

There's really nothing negative to say when everyone here is so positive.
