Pros

Depending on if you luck out or not, your coworkers can be fun. You can learn a lot about furniture, especially from the sales people who have been doing this for eons.

Cons

You work every holiday and every weekend. You work on commission with a base which I was told is the same for everyone until I quit and then my manager offered me a bigger base pay to stay. Sometimes it's really slow. You can really only make a lot of money if you're okay with bending the rules and have your coworkers hate you for stealing their sales, and if you're a designer it's like pulling teeth getting the sales team to use your expertise as they would prefer to dump customers they don't want to work with on you, they'd rather not leave the store to go on house calls (I don't even blame them), or they'd rather have the customers do their own work and leave the store to measure their own house, this way the salesperson can work with another customer (again, they work on commission so I don't blame them).

Pros

They provided health insurance and 401K contribution

Cons

Very low additional pay for Sales Manager role. COMMISSION only job. Some months I made $14.00, other months I made $8000.00. I was Salesperson on the month many times and still never broke $50K year. LONG HOURS. Many people there work 12 hour days, just to get their sales numbers enough to avoid being fired. Upper management is "Old Boy" mentality.
