Pros

Despite a promising foundation, Hazelcast has been plagued by a series of missteps that have hindered its growth and employee satisfaction. Poor management, frequent strategic shifts, and an unclear vision have created a toxic work environment that has led to a revolving door of executives & weak management.

Cons

While the company's core product remains strong, its execution has been lacking. This is particularly evident in the limited growth opportunities for mid-career professionals. The frequent changes in leadership have made it difficult to maintain a consistent strategy, resulting in a focus on short-term gains rather than long-term sustainability. Dont be fooled by the lofty ideas by engineering & travel perks.. Its playing catchup.

Pros

The technology itself is great and used by many big-name customers in mission critical systems. The culture is very collegial and there is generally a lot of collaboration up and down and across the org chart. Employees have a fair amount of autonomy. People work hard but a balanced life is encouraged.

Cons

Frequent direction changes. It's a necessary function of the market the product serves and tech in general but at times it can be stressful.
