Pros

As I’m reading other reviews on here, the negative reviews are justified and I’m not going to pretend that they’re not, but at least for my experience this is the best company that I’ve worked for. HealthTrust and Ed are far from perfect (see Cons). However, as I look at a check list for all of the traits that I’d want out of my employer, they fill most of the check boxes. I feel like I am paid well for my position. Overall it isn’t that stressful of a position (although it has its days). The company is above average for being financially stable (no COVID related layoffs, although I’m not naive enough to believe that this isn’t a concern). I have great chemistry with my team and direct management. Growth opportunities aren’t robust, but are there, as there are programs such as leadership development and job shadowing. The culture is very friendly towards being flexible and is prevalent that they “Care like family”. C-Suite will at least say hi in the elevator, some even know my name (sad that that’s a “good thing” for the company, but no other company that I’ve worked for had that). I’ve been in plenty of toxic positions before and this is far from one! Although this might depend on which department or position you are in.

Cons

I am grateful for the opportunity to wfh during Covid’s strongest point, however I do wish that opportunity was available permanently. I’m not a big fan of being back in the office prior to the pandemic being fully under control. There are growth programs as mentioned in the Pros section, but they aren’t really that encouraged or advertised. Also completion of those growth programs don’t really play much of a factor in any promotability. Personally I’m in a lower end non managerial position with a masters degree and a couple of certifications and I’m not quite confident that I’ll be promoted within this company. If there’s any reason for me to look to work for another organization, it would probably be lack of mobility as I’d like to grow as much as my qualifications allow me to, and I’m not exactly getting any younger.

Pros

Work life balance is good Healthcare benefits is good

Cons

Travel is a difficult area to work in. It's very cliquey. They "want you to be promoted to recruiter" but heavily misrepresent the position, requirements, and pay. They like to say that you will make 6-figures within your first year, but you will not. Not unless you eat, sleep, and breathe HealthTrust. Keep in mind that while you may do okay, what you make is dependent on who you sign and HCA Healthcare has a terrible reputation in the medical world when it comes to employee treatment and environment. If you LIKE sales and do well in sales, this actually might be for you. You're pitching dreams, not promises, to get a bite on a line and try to get commissions. It's going to be draining. It's going to be tough. It's going to be competitive. There are other travel agencies who treat employees better. If you're interviewing and they promised you greatness, prepare yourself not to get it.
