Pros

Weekly pay. great co-workers. Having the chance to occasionally meet semi-important/famous people.

Cons

NEVER a set work weeks' hours, constant monitoring of sales #'s and nitpicking of them, decieving customers into optional services to put a smile on "daddys" face...aka anyone above you that watches for it. Write-ups if you fail to meet your sales goals. (the only way you will ever hot them is to cleverly sneak them i to the customers' rental rate) example: over-quoting to include one of these features and pitch it like it comes included in the price, then crossing your fingers and hoping they don't look at the contract! Sending a car one a one-way destination that has any of these conditions, including, but not limited to: brake light out, alignment out of whack, expired inspection, expired registration (both expired would be automatic one way regardless of reservation class size) cracked windshield, broken seatbelt buckle, leaking tire, headlight out, maintenance required dash light on, etc. Let some other location down south, up north, or out west deal with it. That'll solve it.

Pros

It is possible to make a difference if you are determined enough. Many engineers work hard and most try.

Cons

The company has a ton of tech debt that it recognized, but is not being addressed. Management controls the time, scope and so quality is falling. The people they have hired lack fundamentals understanding of software development practices. The company often will make decisions to save small amounts of money with their facilities and tools they give to employees without understanding the opportunity cost that was lost. Overtime is required. You can't work here if you want to have a family or keep your family from hating you. Title inflation is real. Many people are actually performing one level down from their stated title and those that are not are only not failing due to putting in crazy hours. Middle management wont stickup for their people to ensure they are not burning out. They see it happening multiple times in front of them and they do nothing.
