Pros

There are some great people that work at this company, although I'm not sure how long they'll stay. The product itself is good. Free food is cool.

Cons

Honey has hired new senior management who are extremely unprofessional. One day you'll be brought into a meeting with HR to be shown the door. It's clear that senior management wants to make sure that the lamb doesn't see the knife, and they're on an a firing spree. Any promise of growth is just a carrot on a stick until they can you.

Thanks for taking the time to provide this feedback. We don’t take employee departures lightly at Honey and have a process in place to ensure that managers provide employees with coaching and constructive feedback. This is also something we're actively trying to do more of, more frequently. We want to build a company where people work hard and are excited to be here and grow with us. There are going to be times when someone is not the right fit for Honey and we’re not the right fit for them. When that happens, our goal is to be as respectful and fair as possible, which means doing what we can to help someone transition onto a new opportunity.

Pros

Before the acquisition by PayPal, Honey was the best employer I ever had. Good benefits, good perks, diverse and supportive working environment, interesting and challenging work, amazing coworkers.

Cons

Acquisition by PayPal was basically the end of the party, they systematically erased any remnants of the company culture and the entire mission became focused on nothing but the quarterly returns for investers. PayPal had no idea what to do with Honey's technology or incredibly valuable brand and it just withered.

Pros

PREVIOUSLY... - Smart people, great culture, true friendships and learning opportunities. - Really cool product. - Many women in tech. - Good work life balance. Acquisition by PayPal dramatically slowed things down and changed the culture though

Cons

After acquisition by PayPal, priorities changed and resulted in disagreements by old leadership/teammates. Some good engineering leaders were replaced with uncaring and nontechnical ones. Most of the best engineers left. It's boring/slow, but not a terrible place to work at.
