We are glad you are sharing your thoughts with Glassdoor readers on some of the great things about Horizon--great people, fun products, and a pleasant work environment! It is concerning you believe you had been misled. I certainly hope you shared those concerns with the appropriate people until you were able to get some answers, because it is never our intention for employees to feel we were not honest and straightforward with them. If you could not get answers from your direct manager, Human Resources is always available for employees, or you could have used our open door policy to speak to senior leadership. Like any organization, we do periodically review our current and business needs, and adjust our staffing accordingly. However, even when we decide to contract in certain job functions, we are generally hiring in other areas where we are focusing our efforts for growth and innovation. Oftentimes, individuals with suitable skill sets are moved within the company to new opportunities. For those we cannot place internally or who choose not to accept a transfer, we take steps to assist them with their transition. Thankfully this does not happen often, but we try to do the right thing when it does. Unfortunately, offering overtime compensation to salaried employees is not an option. To do so would be a violation of employment regulations. However, we realize some roles within the company do involve non-traditional hours--including weekends--to provide the best interaction with our consumers. In return, we try to offer flexibility during other times to offset the dedicated efforts employees give in support of weekend events or work shifts. It is nice to hear you appreciated the benefits we offer. We have worked hard over the years to offer a solid line up of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, long term disability, short term disability, long term care, paid time off, 401(k), EAP services, product discounts, tuition assistance, scholarship opportunities for the children of employees, corporate events, etc. In fact, our carriers frequently comment on the strength of Horizon's total rewards package in comparison to other companies of our size. Thank you again for your review, and for your service to Horizon! We wish you much success in the future.

Pros

Recognition & Rewards: Horizon has a genuinely motivating recognition culture. The points-based reward system is a standout policy I appreciated. It creates a tangible way for hard work to be acknowledged and rewarded, and it fosters a sense of healthy motivation across the team. It's the kind of initiative that shows a company actually values its employees, not just in words but in action. Plus you can use your points on gift cards, swag and restaurants. I got myself a Home Depot gift card. Work Life Balance: Horizon understands that employees have lives outside of work, and that balance was always respected. Never feeling like work was consuming my personal time made me a more focused and productive employee when I was on the clock. Exciting Products: Working with great products made the job genuinely enjoyable. There's a real sense of pride that comes with representing something you believe in, and at Horizon, that was never hard to do. We get to work with badass cars, planes and boats. Employee Product Testing: One of the most unique and appreciated perks was being able to take products home to test. As a dad with boys, this was especially meaningful, it made the products feel personal and gave real-world perspective that made me better at my job. That's a rare thing. Supportive Management: The leadership at Horizon sets the tone for everything. Having management that is approachable, supportive, and genuinely invested in their team makes all the difference in day-to-day work life. It's something you don't take for granted. Thank you Jenn!

Pros

Excellent benefits, Excellent Perks and rewards, top of the line PTO, great coworkers, a hobby experience like no other.

Cons

Management has no plan, flies by the seat of their pants and then shifts. They do not pay Product Support representatives the average, do not let glassdoor fool you with the average pay. there is no one who makes $21+ an hour, in fact I don't think anyone touches $20 an hour regardless how long they have been with the company. They do surveys but nothing changes or gets done. They do not like remote employees and no longer hire remotely.
