Pros

People are nice. Job security. Ok benefits. Annual merit increases.

Cons

Hard to grow your career without moving to Austin. Old time employees that should retire are occupying lower level roles, which is preventing younger employees from getting those positions. Conservative culture. Mandating 4 days in the office. Lower than market rate compensation. Not actually innovating when creating new items 95% of the time. Trying to build culture from the ground up but is coming top down. “Emphasizes” diversity and inclusion, yet employees do not get MLK day or Juneteenth off? Too many Boomers in high level roles; we need younger leaders to shape and drive the company forward.

Pros

I love working at Hormel, its easy to say but this really is a tight knit family culture, the people are what make this company awesome. I am given the freedom to express my skills and perform to the best of my availabilities without anyone looking over my shoulder. Hormel gives their employees the room and space to shine, the tools and support to grow and develop. The sky is truly the limit here as far as how far you want to go if you are willing to commit and work hard.

Cons

I dont think its a con however, some might. In some cases you may need to be willing to move to different cities or states to progress your career, however the company will pay to move you.
