Pros

Good pay Friendly co-workers Discounts on Hormel food products

Cons

No work life balance, Long hours with limited work force. Must wear company uniform plus smok, hairnet, beard net and hardhat. Can be annoying when it's already hot and you're forced to wear 3 layers of clothes. Seasoned employees don't actually put in any effort to "train" new hires, you better know what to do or expect to be kicked to the curb. Lots of standing/walking around waiting for calls to come in over the radio. Supervisors play favorites and give easier tasks to the ones they like.

Pros

I love working at Hormel, its easy to say but this really is a tight knit family culture, the people are what make this company awesome. I am given the freedom to express my skills and perform to the best of my availabilities without anyone looking over my shoulder. Hormel gives their employees the room and space to shine, the tools and support to grow and develop. The sky is truly the limit here as far as how far you want to go if you are willing to commit and work hard.

Cons

I dont think its a con however, some might. In some cases you may need to be willing to move to different cities or states to progress your career, however the company will pay to move you.
