Pros

My manager Larry was the best production manager that I ever had, hands down. The people I got to work with were all pretty great and they stuck around there for a while. I was hired on as a temp worker and I was told right away they were looking to hire me permanently if I did a good job. They trained me for just about every role in the shop except the CNC machine, which requires certification and way more technical skill so I was not upset. The schedule was first shift and it allowed me to have a functioning life at the same time as working overtime. The best part about the schedule was that whenever overtime was mandatory it would be earlier in the morning instead of later in the day, so you still got to do everything else you needed. The health insurance was fantastic. Also the company provided free coffee every day, which goes along way for me when working hard.

Cons

Probably the fact that weeks were long. I didn't mind most weeks, but often did 10 hours of overtime every week and it started two hours early at 6am which was challenging. The pay was really good for me as an unmarried 22 year old guy, but I could see somebody with a family needing more perhaps. Occasionally I worked with people who just didn't pull their weight at all, but management knew it and would deal with it eventually.
