Pros
Great pay, great benefits. Supervisors and upper management are very helpful and will work with you on needed schedule flexibility and time off to attend to family matters. There are plenty of opportunities for overtime, with about a 30/70 split mandatory/overtime. Both your supervisors and management treats you like a human being, not just as another cog in the system. The union is strong and very good at negotiating on the workers’ behalf for job security and fair, livable wages. Unlike a lot of companies, if you come in on time and put in an honest days work, your efforts are actually recognized.
Cons
Very limited air conditioning in work areas, so at times, work conditions can be very, very hot. But the company does provide you with free water and sports drinks, there are plenty of fans, and there is always AC in the break rooms and offices. The supervisors will always encourage you to take breaks when you need them so you don’t overheat. Overall, the issue of a hot work environment pales in comparison to all of the pros of working here.
