Pros

Good Benefits Co-workers are amazing They give you PTO time

Cons

PTO time is difficult to use because you are punished if you use it. You are granted 3 points for a call out and after 5 call outs over a calendar year you are put on a "verbal warning" which basically means no promotions for 6 months and a crummy score on your annual review. If you have kids, THIS IS NOT THE JOB FOR YOU! If you have elderly parents, THIS IS NOT THE JOB FOR YOU! If you are a human that gets sick, THIS MAY NOT BE THE JOB FOR YOU. Time off must be scheduled 1 MONTH in advance or else you basically have to take points. Time off during the summer is impossible to get unless you are present on the 1 day that they open the time and the time is filled in a matter of 3 minutes. Have off that day? Tough luck. Don't know when you will need off because it is many months in advance? Tough luck. Grab a week and plan your life accordingly. Brown nosers are rewarded with everything. Fail to brown nose and you will stagnate until you quit or get fired. Pay raises are garbage and you are looking at 3% if you are lucky. Which based off the base pay scale equates to .42 a year. A YEAR!! COME ON!! You are expected to shove products down peoples throats based on a "needs based approach", that's understandable. I mean, it is a banking institution. However, you will be punished if you don't meet "expectations" even though they will swear up and down you don't have a quota. The phone rings every 3 seconds. On a busy day, which is pretty much every day, you will get calls non stop all day. This equates to about 100 - 140 calls per day and you are expected to sell to every one of them and spend at least 5 minutes on the phone with them. Oh, and your breaks WILL be canceled. Burnout is inevitable. Management is spotty. There are some really good and really bad managers but there is an overall lack of business knowledge and education across the board.

Pros

Big promote from within mentality for entry level, supervisory, and low level management

Cons

If you are an experienced professional, with 10 to 15 years of experience, but you are not high level leadership, you will struggle to get promoted over an internal candidate, even when the job is in your area of specialty.
