Pros

HVFCU provides PT and FT employment. The training is good and you get paid while in training. Once you are in a branch you can always transfer if you don't like the managers staff or have other problems...You can also transfer to other departments after you have some teller experience and a job opens up in other depts. Of course, you have Bankers Hours...meaning you get a lot of federal holidays off....

Cons

Management will lie to you...They will also harass you out of the job. Instead of firing you they will harass you so you want to quit. I saw them do this to two older PT workers. We were all hired in 2015 before they changed their computer program. HVFCU needed more tellers due to the change....They favored older experienced workers like my self. I started in a branch with the two other older workers. Management wants " yes men and women"...they want you to cheer all management decisions even if they are unfair or don't make sense...I and the two older workers, who have worked for many other companies recognized the failings at HVFCU. They say that you can talk openly but once you report anything to HR...you are marked and they harass you out....I saw the tactics used by them to the two older workers who came in with me....One quit and the other demanded a transfer out of our branch...she thought it would be better elsewhere...it was not..The average length of time at HVFCU as a teller is one year. After that it is hard to take all the BS ....SO many tellers leave that there was an inquiry to the President and CEO of HVFCU...She did an "investigation" and they said that all the tellers left to go further on in their careers....What a crock!!!!....They want young and dumb in experienced people to work there who don't know any better. They REQUIRE you to make your monthly Sales quota or else forget a raise and other benefits to which you are entitled too...but no quota....no benefits...I saw them keep two women at work. One had terrible migraines and actually was crying from the pain. They said..." well you can punch out and go home...but becasue you did not make quota....you may not get paid"...The other woman was pregnant and was nauseous.........After working there 3 years, I could not stand the harassment any more so I quit...If you are in experienced and want a starter job this may be for you but as a career?......How much can you take?...I think banking in general is all like this. I had a friend at Chase and he said it was the same pressure...make quota or else. You can Google on the mis behaving going on at Wells Fargo.....

Pros

Big promote from within mentality for entry level, supervisory, and low level management

Cons

If you are an experienced professional, with 10 to 15 years of experience, but you are not high level leadership, you will struggle to get promoted over an internal candidate, even when the job is in your area of specialty.
