Pros
In my 30 years at IBM I have only had one manager that wasn't 100% above average. Their managers have almost always been outstanding. The training for any and every position I have held with IBM has been outstanding. Everything has always been explained fully and all questions answered. The work environment has always been positive. Questions and new ideas are encouraged. Working from home (when your roll permits) has never been a problem. Building teams of incredible people is easy. The benefits package is good. Holidays, vacation time, sick time, medical
Cons
If you are not gunning for that next promotion, pay raises are not frequent. 1%-3% has been the rule, rather than the exception. If you are applying for a job, ask for a higher number in the pay range. Don't settle for the minimum in the pay range. There is a plethora or training that you can take in many fields. With the constant development of new technologies, new platforms, and new applications, along with acquisitions of smaller companies, the amount of required training can be overwhelming.
