Although it has recently been acquired by a larger organization (ION), Lab49 maintains a culture of a small software consulting company. Engineers get to work on a wide variety of technologies building software for its capital market clients. Interesting and challenging work, competitive pay, good work/life balance. Most engineers get the chance to change projects several times a year, which allows you to learn different technologies and problem domains and work with different teams. Ample opportunity to stand out and be recognized
Cons
Communication from top-level management could be better and was lacking during the ION transition where there was some confusion. Things have improved on that front.
