Pros

1. Making (although very little) money 2. Extremely close to Grand Central 3. Easy hours - 8:45-5pm.

Cons

Everyones salary for the same position is different. I worked in SPEX aka Sponsorship & Exhibits Sales Executive role. They will make sure to low ball as much as possible. At the time I had 4+ years sales experience and the jerk manager I worked with, hired me for a astonishing $37,500 base salary with different things in my contract where if I sell a certain amount of sponsorship, it will go from $42,500 to $45k to $50k. If you arent entry level, I heard a colleague of mine had to show him a past paystub in order to get a higher base salary. I didn't do that, I would up getting fired (thankfully) after 2 months there for not producing. Con number 1....The extremely low salary didn't motivate me to want to advance the company, I felt like I was getting taken advantage of so I just let them subsidize me while I found a better job (which I did in the event services industry). They make you sign a non-compete form to not work in the industry for a year, but I didn't listen to that, and wound up getting a job in the industry with a $50k base to start. Shows you how much they value their employees. Con number 2...The manager I worked for who no longer is with them. I remember during freakin' training this guy treating me like a POS. He was arrogant, and just a bad human being. Worst training I ever experienced. Between the manager being straight up mean and the low base, the bathrooms where one of the stalls you can look right into, and there never being cups for the water dispenser that's in the office room as their is no break room, there is nothing good about this dumpy looking office or job.

Thank you for your feedback. At any company, salary is commensurate with experience and other factors, and in a sales role, incentive compensation in the forms of bonuses and commission is intended to be just that - incentive. Glad to hear the manager you had such a bad experience with is no longer employed by us, so that's one issue we can cross off the list! Hope your new position gives you what you're looking for, and we wish you the best of luck in the future.

Pros

Title: Great company to work for with an agile and talented team Pros: Working as a Portfolio Manager at IQPC was a great experience. The company is incredibly agile and has a strong ability to adapt to market changes, which is vital in the highly competitive events and conferences industry. This adaptability allows IQPC to stay ahead of trends and continue delivering relevant and high-quality events. The people here are some of the smartest and most capable I’ve had the pleasure of working with — it’s clear that IQPC attracts top talent and fosters a collaborative, supportive environment. One of the standout aspects of the company is how much they invest in their rising talent. There are continuous opportunities for development, and the performance-based pay structure is a great motivator. It not only rewards individual contributions but also drives the company’s success as a whole. This culture of incentivizing high performance was one of the key factors in my own personal and professional growth while there. Overall: IQPC is a solid company with a lot of potential for growth. The leadership is forward-thinking, the people are sharp, and the culture rewards results. While the sales team dynamic might not be perfect, it’s a small downside in an otherwise great work environment. Would recommend to anyone who thrives in a fast-paced, results-oriented setting!

Cons

Cons: Like many fast-paced companies, there is a bit of ego on the sales team. While this is somewhat expected in a high-energy, results-driven environment, it can occasionally cause friction between departments. However, this is something that can be managed with effective communication and collaboration. For junior staff it can be a challenging environment to meet deadlines.

Pros

people were nice enough to work with

Cons

I worked for SSON, our managing director liked to preach that they advocated for their employees, but I was let go, through no fault of my own per their words, after bad training and no real support for the new role I was taking on. Also, there is zero work/life balance despite being able to work from home 2 days a week, my team was exhausted and upper management did not care.
