Everyones salary for the same position is different. I worked in SPEX aka Sponsorship & Exhibits Sales Executive role. They will make sure to low ball as much as possible. At the time I had 4+ years sales experience and the jerk manager I worked with, hired me for a astonishing $37,500 base salary with different things in my contract where if I sell a certain amount of sponsorship, it will go from $42,500 to $45k to $50k. If you arent entry level, I heard a colleague of mine had to show him a past paystub in order to get a higher base salary. I didn't do that, I would up getting fired (thankfully) after 2 months there for not producing.
Con number 1....The extremely low salary didn't motivate me to want to advance the company, I felt like I was getting taken advantage of so I just let them subsidize me while I found a better job (which I did in the event services industry). They make you sign a non-compete form to not work in the industry for a year, but I didn't listen to that, and wound up getting a job in the industry with a $50k base to start. Shows you how much they value their employees.
Con number 2...The manager I worked for who no longer is with them. I remember during freakin' training this guy treating me like a POS. He was arrogant, and just a bad human being. Worst training I ever experienced. Between the manager being straight up mean and the low base, the bathrooms where one of the stalls you can look right into, and there never being cups for the water dispenser that's in the office room as their is no break room, there is nothing good about this dumpy looking office or job.
