Pros
Illumio has been on an interesting journey internally but one thing it’s always done really well is deliver a fantastic product that genuinely helps customers.
Having been at illumio a while, like any company there are ups and downs. But there’s always been some fantastic people to stabilise the ship. The inside sales leader is a true gem to the business. Always balancing delivery of a number, enjoyment of the job and team engagement extremely well. The new sales leadership genuinely cares about everyone under its remit and recognises we’re all in it together and the only way we can deliver is to deliver together, it’s the first sales leadership I’ve worked with and thought “these guys are good, they will get us where we need to be”.
Marketing work their bums off, they always help get the best for each team in each region. Having marketing and sales working so well together has been a fantastic asset.
The channel is another place illumio shines, especially in EMEA. Their channel partners love working with illumio and they trust that illumio will help their customers fix problems and not just “sell a solution”. Which will only continue as illumio goes on its journey.
The product itself is phenomenal! Their core product has been adopted by most of the big names globally within its first 6/7 years which is almost unheard off and its new endpoint partnership with Crowdstrike firmly cements Illumio’s long term position as THE leader in zero trust.
Illumios handling of the global pandemic was also something to be proud off. The CEO kept the entire company informed on every conversation and decision. He made sure that no one will be made redundant or take a pay cut. In a time of uncertainty the senior leaders at illumio handled it as well as anyone can expect and that’s the best praise I can give them,
Overall, illumio is far from perfect but it’s getting pretty close. I firmly believe the next few years at Illumio will see the company truly shine, we have all the best people in the right positions and we all care about the company succeeding.
Cons
The only cons I would suggest aren’t really cons. As illumio grows it will need to prepare to train up the great talent it has inside the teams which is something that will happen in time so as I said, not really a con.
