Pros
I’ve never worked at a company of this size where there is a feeling of family. I feel very close to my colleagues and enjoy collaborating on projects. The work is fast-paced and challenging and there is a gradual shift toward recognizing the importance of work-life balance. The company definitely rewards hard work with bonuses and salary increases and throws an awesome Christmas party. The CEO is very approachable, as is the rest of the executive team. These are executives who know your name and say hello to you in the hallway. They don’t hide in back offices. If something is wrong at InEight, they want you to tell them. There are monthly company-wide meetings and we are encouraged to give feedback. What has impressed me is this company actually responds to feedback and has changed for the better. Yes, you’ll read about some layoffs and understandably some reviews will come from former employees who were let go, but InEight has also made some strategic acquisitions and added staff in certain areas. The PTO is generous and there are free snacks and drinks in the break room. There are also a few parking options, including free outside and garage (fee + waiting list), which is great in the hot summer. Benefits include healthcare and generous 401(k) matching. I like it at InEight and hope to stay here.
Cons
The company is moving fast and likes to change its strategy in mid-stream. I feel it would be better off if it would focus on producing a few products that are outstanding, rather than over-taxing itself and the staff and pushing out software that really isn’t ready for market yet. Sometimes the company feels encumbered by its parent company – but that will be changing as InEight grows – and the forecast for growth is very bright.
