Pros

Resource limitations necessitated my exploration beyond my primary area of expertise, which provided me with exposure to a diverse range of technologies.

Cons

Experience vs. Opportunity: It's difficult to find opportunities or be assigned to projects without prior experience, creating a significant barrier for entry and growth. Progression Model: Career advancement seems to be based predominantly on years of service rather than a demonstrated increase in technical skills, project contribution, or expertise. Lack of Guidance: There is insufficient guidance and mentorship provided on the project. Team members often feel they are left to navigate complex tasks and challenges with little to no support. Ethical / Value Concern: The project's mandate appears to be primarily focused on maximizing billing to the client rather than delivering maximum value, solving core problems, or providing genuine assistance to the client's business needs. Non-Existent WLB: Work-life balance is severely lacking. The expected hours and workload make it extremely difficult to maintain a healthy boundary between professional and personal life.

Cons

Salary growth can be slow – Compensation increments may be lower compared to market standards. Limited flexibility in role changes – Internal mobility and project switches can take time. Bureaucratic processes – Decision-making can be slow due to multiple approval layers. Project allocation delays – Bench time and delayed onboarding to projects can happen. Variable learning exposure – Skill growth depends heavily on the project assigned. Less innovation in some teams – Certain projects may use legacy technologies. Onsite opportunities are limited – Compared to earlier years, onsite roles are fewer. Performance appraisal transparency – Rating systems may feel rigid or unclear.
