Pros
Since I work at a high volume location, I'm lucky enough to earn a respectable wage. My co-workers are fantastic, but that ultimately means I have to watch as quality people get dragged through the mud on a daily basis.
Cons
The corporate response to most of the negative reviews on this site serve as a great summation of how they also view the prospect of treating their employees with any sort of palpable humanity. They're very cavalier in the way they sidestep very real problems while simultaneously exclaiming extraordinarily misleading statistics. Insomnia Cookies has benefits! It personally took filling out/submitting three copies of the same document in order to secure a trivial amount of vacation pay for a weekend. Insomnia Cookies has 1,500-2,000 employees! The turnover rate is so egregious I've seen 3 people leave our location since the year started and it's only January 16th. On the whole, Insomnia Cookies is a company grotesquely obsessed with legitimizing itself as a corporation worthy of respect. Employees are constantly watched via security cameras and are reprimanded for even the most banal of injustices. Hat falls off your head temporarily? That's a violation. Is your coat over your work shirt but not obscuring the logo on your shirt on a day where the wind chill is below zero degrees? Still somehow a violation. The people in the security center are truly omnipresent and it creates the creepiest form of Orwellian supervision. Keep in mind, I'm just a driver. Only a few of these rules actually apply directly to me/my work but my rudimentary level of empathy means I understand the strife they create for essentially everyone at my location. I've seen adults break down in tears here. I've seen someone go through a panic attack thanks to the stringent and often non-sensical guidelines by which employees must adhere in order to avoid termination. I've seen several store managers come and go and I feel/felt sorry for them every day. They work ungodly hours and are often the subject of derision from higher-ups for not living up to their nearly supernatural expectations. If I didn't make a lot of money when the conditions are right, this would hands-down be the worst job I've ever had. Alas, thanks to my hefty wage, I can keep my hands firmly up while I proclaim this the worst job I've ever had.
