Pros
Good pay and good benefits. Growing company, room for advancement. A decent focus on safety, although sometimes manipulated by lower level employees because of the huge focus/pressure on the "appearance" of safety.
Cons
No work/life balance. Long hours for lower/mid level salary folks like sawmill supervision (65 - 70+ hrs per week). Tons of initiatives piled on low/mid level management with no real support, "just do it" mentality. No respect for many good experienced employees from acquired mills, the Interfor Way is the only way. Way too many managers from corporate visiting mills that don't know what is really going on in a mill. A manager of everything you can think of from corporate would come to mill to point out what was wrong, but no clear instruction on how to improve or no tools provided to do it with. High turnover at all levels. Little regard for anyone at the mill level.
