Pros

There are awesome teams and co-workers. Makes a great work environment. Most have excellent work ethic and strive to do their best for patients and others

Cons

You are expendible. IH will not invest in you. They don’t pay for continuing education and you have to use PTO to go to a conference. If you want to advance in your career or gain a specialty, it’s not with IH. It is an act of congress to get any new material/items to complete your job, no matter what it costs. Upper/senior management don’t care, and mid management is required to be “yes” men, don’t contradict. Lots of spinning. They no longer care about their patient care and the quality of care, it is not about money and how much you can make them. It has lost the nonprofit organization feeling. They have banked on the local culture of service and hard work for too long, and the people don’t feel loyalty back and things are shifting negatively quickly. Benefits are not that good, including medical. 401k is par to sub-par. Pay is barely enough to float with cost of living and raises are not keeping up with inflation. Bonuses have almost completely disappeared.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review with us. First and foremost, we are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your experience at Intermountain Health. We appreciate your valuable feedback as it helps us identify the areas we can improve. At Intermountain, we’re always working to keep communication open and meaningful across all levels of the organization. We’ve built in several ways for caregivers and leaders to stay connected and share feedback, like 30-, 60-, and 90-day check-ins during onboarding, regular team huddles, and quarterly meetings. These touchpoints are designed to create space for real conversations and collaboration. Additionally, as a healthcare organization, everything we do is rooted in data, from creating treatment plans for patients to making decisions about our business. Our benefits package is no different. Intermountain offers benefits that support caregivers, maintain affordability and sustainability, stay competitive in the market, and create a consistent experience for all caregivers. Our benefits will continue to evolve based on caregiver feedback and market data. Lastly, we are committed to life-long learning and providing professional development opportunities for all our caregivers. Upward mobility is a key focus for us. We implement educational resources that empower caregivers to gain new skills that drive personal and professional growth. Some of these resources include access to an online digital learning library and partial tuition coverage for a number of accredited programs. Through these avenues, we strive to support talent development that aligns with the career goals of our caregivers.  We take all feedback seriously and will share your review with our teams as we continue to move forward.

Pros

The best benefits by far— comprehensive and easy to navigate and understand.

Cons

Policies and procedures have become detached, less human and much more “bottom line” than in previous years. My disability requests were denied and I haven’t been able to move up or even laterally to accommodate myself in this organization despite having my Bachelors and recent work samples due to the automation of hiring and how removed HR seems from managements goal to promote from within. They’re missing a lot of talent in front of them.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, both positive and constructive. At Intermountain Health, we believe that a culture of well-being for all caregivers is foundational to our ability to deliver on our mission of helping people live the healthiest lives possible. Caregivers are at the heart of what we do, which is why we have invested in and implemented several programs and resources to help caregivers enhance their physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and financial health. It’s important that every caregiver feels secure, supported, and safe, both at home and at work. Additionally, data plays a big role in how we care for patients—and it also guides how we support our caregivers. That’s why our benefits are thoughtfully designed to balance affordability, sustainability, and competitiveness, while creating a consistent experience for everyone on our team. We’re always listening, and as caregiver needs and market trends evolve, so will our benefits.
