Overall pay for providers and skilled caregivers is low, while the qualifications and job tasks expected are high. Pressure from regional executives on Department heads and both clinical and non-clinical teams to add revenue is intense and the stress trickles down to the grass roots employees. For an entity that is said to be non-profit, the focus from execs over revenue vs quality of patient experience and care is highly mis-proportioned. When programs are cut because of claims that not enough revenue I made, patients and clients are left hanging without any other comparable alternatives for are or offers of resolution. Additionally, employees are not given much consideration for time of service or time needed to find other comparable employment with personnel reductions are made. You are simply cut off abruptly without my recourse or support for your forced transition. While IH hires a company to help with job finding and transitioning services, no accountability is present to ensure affected employees are supported in their transitions. The current company hired for talent acquisition and transition to another job, simply does not do what they are hired to do. IH has not been actively making sure individuals needing transition help are actually helped. Overall, work force reductions or lay-offs are generally poorly handled, leaving caregivers whom dedicated them selves to patient care and promoting IH services well, with a terribly bad taste in their mouth.
