Pros
11 paid holidays, vacation, sick days. Paid on time. Company car, gas card, all expenses on vehicle are paid through LeasePlan. Will also pay storage fees.
Cons
The people you work with are selfish. Will expect help from you, but will not return the favor. Some technicians try to play the "I'm not healthy enough to do that" card to get out of their own job responsibilities. Micro-managed so much it can be off-putting. Downright spirit breaking. To the point you would almost want to declare bankruptcy and live under a bridge. Driving is graded on a scale of 0-100. Someone from corporate enforces it yet has zero experience in the field or on these roads day in and day out. Employees who do not carry their own weight are not punished. Work that cannot be completed will usually fall in the hands of those who can complete it, even though it is not your area. Impossible to do jobs at times because equipment/replacement equipment is not readily available. Outdated laptop. Outdated OS. Management is all about favorites. Everyone is punished rather than addressing the troublemakers individually. Expected to drive 1-2 hours to clean the warehouse because people are not held responsible for their own messes. Expected to answer phone whether you are on call or not. Management will let 11 out of the 13 technicians take vacation all once during holidays, leaving only one or two to be on call for the entire state. Those on call are expected to make 6-8 hour round trip drives and are shown little appreciation. If you ask management for a holiday off a year in advance even, they will still call you Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day, whether you are 2-3 hours away from your work vehicle, expecting you to drop what you are doing and make the trip back just so you can clean up the mess they made because of their own incompetency and selfishness. Hostile work environment at times. More gossip than in a teenage girls bathroom in junior high. No opportunity to advance. Depressing pay for the amount of work constantly being added.
