Pros
General staff and people I worked with were good people
Cons
Unfathomable condition there at Itron with no process and no job description and no hope for improvement. Apparently Itron has completely inept senior management. I have worked at quite a few large corporations in professional departments and it is unbelievable to me that this company exists in this state of disarray. Almost everyone that I tried to do value-add work with there had no idea what to do or how to do it. The most non-value-add collection of hours spent by the largest collection of workers imaginable. It is the biggest mystery of all time how they get ISO certification. I repeatedly attempted to help the conditions there, as I have been part of other successful Lean Process improvement initiatives. Those attempts I thought initially were just being ignored but in the end I have to believe were just not understood by senior management. Example => they think “process” is a RACI diagram,……ridiculous….. Ever hear of DMAIC? Jump right past “definition of problem”…? Amazing…. I wish all the folks I worked with there the best of luck but it’s going to take a major shake-up in upper management to right that ship.
