Pros

Fast-paced start-up environment - plenty of work to be done; Flexible hours; Coffee; Location; Employees/Colleagues

Cons

There are far higher priorities than taking care of employees at Izenda - Poverty level wages, no career structure/path whatsoever, no employee performance reviews or clear expectations to progress. Terminal lack of internal HR structure.

Hi there. We know who you are. We are sorry that you feel this way. You were a part-time resource and we met with you three times to discuss career planning in the first 83 days and you quit before your formal 90-day review. Team Members at Izenda are not uninspired. I see the great work they produce every day. You joined us without a college degree in a clerical role. You worked in a contract capacity. A note to the InterWebs - , we pay 100% of our staff's health insurance and we have formal reviews for all staff members. We do wish you the best and hope you mature. Honesty is not a form of "human right" as you describe, but an attribute of ethics and I hope my response illustrates that we do care about everyone that walks in/out of our doors! Also, we pay market (or above) for all talent and continue to grow and create opportunities.

Pros

Some of my teammates were very hard-working and kind.

Cons

Izenda has been around since 2002 and is still a messy startup. They have no dedicated HR person, which is reflective of how little the company values its employees. While other companies give out perks like snacks and flex hours, Izenda offers nothing, and, in addition, requires all employees across departments to record their work hours using a time tracking software. The company's hiring practices are shady - The support team is partly made up of bright people who were hired as developers but are tricked into answering tickets and dealing with people's day-to-day issues. My own title was changed arbitrarily two months into my time at Izenda, and I was never told why. Organizationally, there is no growth path in place and, upon asking around, I found that advancement within the company is rare. I was not compensated appropriately for my workload. Even when it suddenly literally doubled due to the firing of one of my teammates, no pay increase was mentioned and when I tried to discuss it I was simply told that I "would be fine." As part of the support structure at Izenda, my inability to help my customers succeed with the product (due to blocking issue after blocking issue) weighed on my morale and I became burnt out, as did my colleagues. Ultimately, my hard work was not appreciated in any meaningful way and I left the company feeling like management had tried to pull the wool over my eyes.

Thank you for the note. Time-tracking was to streamline client-relations and make billing/invoicing for hours spent easier to do. Also, it makes it easier to provide clients with visibility into the amount of time we spend on a task. I'm sorry you did not think we had any "perks", but we are a small business and the average employee has been with the business for 5.5 years - pretty outstanding. We have a dedicated Human Capital team member and we implemented Small Improvements (a tool for developing and rewarding staff and keeping everyone on the same page) in the beginning of 2019. We wish you the best Pat!
