Pros

J.Crew wants employees to look the part which means wearing J.Crew. They have one of the best employee discounts and offer "Crew Clothes", an allotment for new employees. The music played in stores was usually pretty good as well. If you buy into the brand it's a great place to work!

Cons

At our store, team morale was generally driven by management and there was a good amount of drama. There was a lot of turnover in the management team the last year I was there. They still had on call shifts too which were super inconvenient and some weeks you'd only have on calls.

Pros

Good time-off package. Holiday week off for office employees. Historically respected work-life balance and flexible working. Good employee discount and maternity leave.

Cons

C-suite pushing a mandatory 3 days in-office after 5+ years of boasting flexibility as a cornerstone of their employee benefits package. Lack of clear and thoughtful communication of this new policy was frustrating and disheartening as an employee. Leadership, starting with the CEO, is at an all-time low of the last 6 years of working in their corporate office. Horrifying to see how poorly initiatives are getting rolled out, likely getting pushed down from board of directors. Would anticipate a rough transition into the company if you choose to take a role replacing the dozens of employees possibly being forced to leave the company due to RTO.
