Pros

Clothing discounts Community Structured Retail Environment Personalized Shopping I was fortunate to work at a few J. Crew locations where I had amazing store directors, managers and co-workers. Some who I can call long time friends. Pay as an associate is higher than some retail jobs, however, with the caliber of service we have to provide, it should be higher. Great structured environment as I've mentioned before. J. Crew was my first retail job and I think their high standards creates good habits you essentially carry on-to next jobs.

Cons

There are clients like this EVERYWHERE, however, dealing with the occasional nitpicky client who comes from privilege will be difficult at times, but you being a resilient retail employee – it's no big feat.

Pros

Good time-off package. Holiday week off for office employees. Historically respected work-life balance and flexible working. Good employee discount and maternity leave.

Cons

C-suite pushing a mandatory 3 days in-office after 5+ years of boasting flexibility as a cornerstone of their employee benefits package. Lack of clear and thoughtful communication of this new policy was frustrating and disheartening as an employee. Leadership, starting with the CEO, is at an all-time low of the last 6 years of working in their corporate office. Horrifying to see how poorly initiatives are getting rolled out, likely getting pushed down from board of directors. Would anticipate a rough transition into the company if you choose to take a role replacing the dozens of employees possibly being forced to leave the company due to RTO.
