Pros

At the time, J.Crew allowed personal shoppers to make the base associate pay plus some commission. As PS you had great freedom to be creative and offer client's a little more customer service tailored to their needs. There were goals to be met, but the managers were never overbearing when trying to enforce them.

Cons

You are still a sales associate and you will have to deal with the foes that come with working in a retail job at a middle market store.

Pros

Good time-off package. Holiday week off for office employees. Historically respected work-life balance and flexible working. Good employee discount and maternity leave.

Cons

C-suite pushing a mandatory 3 days in-office after 5+ years of boasting flexibility as a cornerstone of their employee benefits package. Lack of clear and thoughtful communication of this new policy was frustrating and disheartening as an employee. Leadership, starting with the CEO, is at an all-time low of the last 6 years of working in their corporate office. Horrifying to see how poorly initiatives are getting rolled out, likely getting pushed down from board of directors. Would anticipate a rough transition into the company if you choose to take a role replacing the dozens of employees possibly being forced to leave the company due to RTO.
