Pros

Not difficult to get time off, often excellent discounts on the merchandise at all J. Crew locations. Most staff at location was friendly.

Cons

difficult to reach sales goals with a rudimentary system of recording them, poorly programmed cash registers requiring too many manual actions. Management quickly revolving and often sub-par. Sales incentives pretty weak for what you are selling. Pays associates slightly over minimum wage, which while legal is slightly immoral, especially in off season with less than ten hours weekly.

Pros

Good time-off package. Holiday week off for office employees. Historically respected work-life balance and flexible working. Good employee discount and maternity leave.

Cons

C-suite pushing a mandatory 3 days in-office after 5+ years of boasting flexibility as a cornerstone of their employee benefits package. Lack of clear and thoughtful communication of this new policy was frustrating and disheartening as an employee. Leadership, starting with the CEO, is at an all-time low of the last 6 years of working in their corporate office. Horrifying to see how poorly initiatives are getting rolled out, likely getting pushed down from board of directors. Would anticipate a rough transition into the company if you choose to take a role replacing the dozens of employees possibly being forced to leave the company due to RTO.
