Pros

I have worked at other retail chains and J. Crew has been the best. The dress code is rather flexible considering you don't have to wear exclusively J. Crew items when working and the discount is very generous.

Cons

Scheduling is very unpredictable: one night you will close and then the next morning you will be scheduled to open the store, or one day your shift will be cut early but the next week you will be scheduled 6 days.

Pros

Good time-off package. Holiday week off for office employees. Historically respected work-life balance and flexible working. Good employee discount and maternity leave.

Cons

C-suite pushing a mandatory 3 days in-office after 5+ years of boasting flexibility as a cornerstone of their employee benefits package. Lack of clear and thoughtful communication of this new policy was frustrating and disheartening as an employee. Leadership, starting with the CEO, is at an all-time low of the last 6 years of working in their corporate office. Horrifying to see how poorly initiatives are getting rolled out, likely getting pushed down from board of directors. Would anticipate a rough transition into the company if you choose to take a role replacing the dozens of employees possibly being forced to leave the company due to RTO.
