Pros

The people you work with are truly amazing and are what make the company a great place to work. I loved the work I did and the support I had from my managers.

Cons

A return-to-office policy has seemed to crush employee morale. Company had offered full remote flexibility, but backtracked on that, and in September switched to a hybrid work model (3 days in office). So now, if you want to work for JCPenney you must live within a 50-mile radius of one of their offices. Most managers from my old team are still remote since they are out of state, so associates who had to return to the office still attend online Teams meetings. Teams are now stretched thin due to ongoing layoffs and associates are worried they will be the next ones let go. The organizational structure is extremely top heavy, so there is not much room for career advancement. Also, no raises were given this past year due to company performance.

Pros

If you like working early morning hours and getting off early in the afternoon (which I do) this is a great part-time job. I was a college student when I worked here so it worked perfectly with my schedule. The pay is pretty decent and the people you work with are friendly.

Cons

Only real downside is that it's retail. You're going to run into some rude customers from time to time. There's always work to do and not enough time given to do it sometimes. But as long as you work hard and managers see that you're trying your best there isn't too much pressure put on you.
